Director Biography
Founder & Artistic Director
Our Founder and Artistic Director brings nearly two decades of experience leading community, high school, and collegiate performance programs to our studio. With a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership, he spent ten years in public education serving as the Fine Arts Department Chair for the schools he taught at. During his time at Round Valley High School, he loved helping his students reach new heights, proudly directing his ensembles to state competition qualifications the school hadn’t seen in over 50 years.
His background is rooted in strong mentorship and a love for the craft. While earning his degrees, he had the unique privilege of studying under Dr. Craig Jessop. Hand-selected as a special projects coordinator, he worked closely with Dr. Jessop to develop a touring singing and dancing group that represented the university at community and fundraising functions.
Over the course of his career, he has directed choirs of up to 250 singers, produced and directed favorite musicals like Crazy For You, and shared his love for travel by taking student groups on performance tours to China, Italy, and Disneyland. Though he has mentored students who went on to perform on Broadway, his truest passion is working with everyday youth. He started this studio to recreate the warm, inspiring environment he grew up in, operating on the simple belief that the arts are the perfect medium for teaching character, connection, and life skills.
Fun Facts
15 Years at Hale
Our director spent 15 years with Hale Centre Theatre working as a singer, actor, dancer, stage manager, and dance captain at the West Valley theater, and helping out on the tech crew at the Sandy location!
Favorite Stage Roles
Some of his absolute favorite roles to play were Ren in Footloose, Will Parker in Oklahoma!, and performing in Treasure Island at Hale.
Music Theory Nerd
He absolutely loved Music Theory in college and was named Student of the Year for it every consecutive year!
Global Traveler
He has traveled the world sharing his love for music, including performing across China and Italy!
