The Heart Behind Every Performance

Born From a Personal Mission
Compass Performing Arts is a family-founded studio born from a deeply personal mission: to ensure that every child has a safe, joyful place to belong.

As parents, we know firsthand the heartbreak of watching your children struggle to find their unique space in a crowded, high-pressure world. It’s a feeling our founder, Adam, remembered intimately from his own youth. For him, the turning point was discovering the performing arts. The stage was where he finally found his place, his lifelong friends, and his true voice.

Having spent decades as a professional arts educator and operations executive, Adam saw how much the youth sports and studio culture had shifted over the years. It had become increasingly cut-throat, exclusive, and driven by the stress of competition, often leaving kids who just want to create feeling left behind or "not good enough."

We knew local families needed a course correction. We wanted to build the exact studio we wished existed for our own children.

A Powerful Partnership of Artistry and Inclusion
In 2026, we opened Compass Performing Arts in Highland, Utah, combining our family's unique passions to create something entirely new.

While Adam guides the high-caliber artistic vision, curriculum, and stagecraft, his wife brings a profound expertise in student-centered care. As a Waldorf cottage school educator and a veteran educational sign-language interpreter, her entire career has been dedicated to inclusion, communication, and nurturing the whole child.

Together, we designed Compass around a simple, unshakeable promise: No Auditions. No Cuts. Ever.

High-Caliber Training, Heart-Centered Mentorship
At Compass, we trade the rigid pressure of a scoreboard for the pure joy of performance. We have brought together a team of exceptional, trained professionals—passionate educators holding degrees in music and dance, or bringing professional industry experience—who share our vision that true artistic excellence thrives best under encouragement, not pressure.

Through our specialized curriculum blending the grand storytelling of Theatrical Jazz with the modern, high-impact energy of Cinematic Pop, we don't just teach choreography and vocal harmony. We use the performing arts as a vehicle to build character, resilience, and unshakeable self-worth.

Every youth ages 6 to 18 who walks through our doors is given a guaranteed stage, a valued voice, and a community where they truly belong. Welcome to our family—we can’t wait to be a part of your child’s journey.
