The Heart Behind Every Performance
Born From a Personal Mission
Compass Performing Arts was born from a simple mission: to ensure every child has a safe, joyful place to belong.
Â
As parents, we know the heartbreak of watching your kids struggle to find their unique space. It’s a feeling our founder, Adam, remembered intimately from his own youth—until he discovered the performing arts. The stage was where he finally found his place, his lifelong friends, and his true voice.
Later in life, Adam and his wife, Michelle, noticed how stressful modern youth activities had become. Between hyper-competitive pressure and the natural social cliques that often form around talent level or social status, it’s easy for great kids to end up feeling left out or invisible. We saw a widespread need for a studio that cares just as much about a child's emotional well-being as their choreography. We knew it was time for a course correction, so we built the exact studio we wished existed for our own family.
Â
A Partnership of Artistry and Inclusion
Launched in 2026 in Highland, Utah, Compass combines our family's unique strengths to create an entirely new kind of studio culture.
Â
While Adam guides the high-caliber artistic vision, curriculum, and stagecraft, Michelle brings deep expertise in student-centered care. As a Waldorf educator and veteran educational sign-language interpreter, her entire career has been dedicated to inclusion, communication, and nurturing the whole child. Together, we designed Compass around an unshakeable promise: No Auditions. No Cuts. Ever.
Â
High-Caliber Training, Mentorship & Tour
We proudly trade the rigid pressure of a scoreboard for the pure joy of performance. Our specialized curriculum blends the storytelling of Theatrical Jazz with the modern energy of Cinematic Pop—led entirely by trained professionals holding degrees in music and dance or bringing elite industry experience.
Â
We prove that excellence thrives best under encouragement, not pressure. Our faculty doesn't look the other way when it comes to studio culture; we actively mentor our students to build character, resilience, and a community free of cliques.
Â
Because we are training students for life, that growth extends far beyond our studio walls. For our performers ages 9 to 18, our annual performance tour gives young artists a taste of the professional industry, teaches teamwork under pressure, and provides an unforgettable milestone for personal growth.
Â
Every youth ages 6 to 18 who walks through our doors is given a guaranteed stage, a valued voice, and a community where they truly belong. Welcome to our family—we can’t wait to be a part of your child’s journey.
